Built In, Not Bolted On

ADA Compliant
Web Design.
WCAG 2.1 AA.

Every Vibe89 site is accessible from the first line of code. Real compliance built into the foundation, not an overlay widget hoping for the best.

What is WCAG 2.1 AA?

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA is the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility. It defines how to make websites usable for people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.

Perceivable

Content must be presentable in ways all users can perceive. Text alternatives for images, captions for video, sufficient color contrast, and content that works without relying on color alone.

Operable

Users must be able to navigate and interact using keyboard only, screen readers, or assistive technology. No keyboard traps, adequate time limits, and no content that causes seizures.

Understandable

Content and interface must be understandable. Readable text, predictable navigation, clear labels on forms, and helpful error messages when something goes wrong.

Robust

Content must work across browsers, devices, and assistive technologies. Clean semantic HTML, valid markup, and proper ARIA attributes so screen readers interpret content correctly.

1 in 4 Americans
has a disability.

That's 61 million people. When your website isn't accessible, you're excluding potential customers, exposing your business to legal risk, and sending the message that not everyone is welcome.

ADA web accessibility lawsuits have increased every year since 2018. In 2025 alone, over 4,000 federal lawsuits were filed against businesses with inaccessible websites. Small businesses are not exempt.

Beyond legal risk, accessible websites are better websites. They load faster, rank higher in search engines, and provide a better experience for everyone, including users on slow connections, older devices, or in bright sunlight.

Business Impact

  • Larger audience — reach 61M+ Americans with disabilities
  • Legal protection — compliance reduces lawsuit risk
  • Better SEO — search engines reward accessible, semantic HTML
  • Faster sites — clean code = better performance
  • Brand trust — inclusivity signals professionalism

Real compliance.
Not an overlay widget.

Accessibility overlay plugins claim to make your site ADA compliant with a single line of JavaScript. They don't. They add a toolbar on top of an inaccessible site and create a false sense of compliance. Courts have ruled overlays insufficient.

Overlay Widgets

  • Bolt-on JavaScript that doesn't fix underlying code
  • Screen readers often can't use them properly
  • Courts have ruled them insufficient for compliance
  • Monthly subscription fees ($50–$500/month)
  • Adds JavaScript bloat, slowing your site
  • Creates a separate, degraded experience for disabled users

VIBE89 Built-In Compliance

  • Accessibility written into the HTML and CSS from day one
  • Semantic markup that screen readers understand natively
  • Meets WCAG 2.1 AA at the code level
  • No monthly fees — it's part of every build
  • Zero extra JavaScript — no performance penalty
  • One experience for all users — equal access by default

Accessibility in every build.

These aren't add-ons. Every VIBE89 project ships with full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance as standard.

Color Contrast

All text meets WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text). Verified across every page.

Keyboard Navigation

Every interactive element is reachable and operable via keyboard. Tab order is logical, focus indicators are visible, and no keyboard traps exist.

Screen Reader Support

Semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy, ARIA labels, roles, and live regions. Content reads correctly in VoiceOver, NVDA, and JAWS.

Alt Text & Media

Every image has descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked as such. Video and audio content includes appropriate alternatives.

Form Accessibility

All form fields have visible labels, clear error messages, and proper input types. Forms work with assistive technology and autocomplete.

Skip Links & Landmarks

Skip-to-main-content links on every page. Proper landmark roles (nav, main, footer) so screen readers can jump between sections.

Focus Management

Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements. Focus is managed correctly in modals, dropdowns, and dynamic content.

Semantic Headings

Proper heading hierarchy (H1 through H6) that creates a logical document outline. No skipped levels, no headings used purely for styling.

Responsive & Touch

Touch targets meet minimum size guidelines. Content reflows at 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling. Works across all device sizes.
